ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Medical City Healthcare today announced the expansion of the Health and Fitness All-Stars Program to the Mansfield Independent School District.

The Medical City Healthcare Health and Fitness All-Stars Program offers a series of instructional videos designed to supplement the fifth-grade physical education curriculum and motivate kids to maintain a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle.

“Medical City Healthcare is committed to supporting healthy lifestyles through nutrition, fitness and mental wellness initiatives,” says Erol Akdamar, FACHE, president of Medical City Healthcare. “We are proud that this partnership with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will help create healthier tomorrows for Mansfield ISD students and youth across North Texas.”

The program, which had previously been operating exclusively in the Arlington Independent School District, is expanding for the first time in its over 15-year history. In Mansfield Independent School District, the program is being incorporated into the district’s Quest and ACE out of school time programs.

In each lesson, Rangers Captain and Medical City Healthcare professionals teach students tips to improve hygiene and mental health, nutrition, aerobic capacity, strength, and flexibility.

“We are excited that the Mansfield ISD Out of School Time Programs have the opportunity to partner with the Texas Rangers for the Health and Fitness All-Stars Program” said Tina Cantu, director of out of school time programs for Mansfield ISD. “Through this partnership, we will motivate and empower our students to make healthy lifestyle choices and establish lifelong habits in order to live a healthier life.”

The Texas Rangers Foundation and Medical City Healthcare are ushering in this new era for the Health and Fitness All-Stars Program by hosting a “Health Rally” for fifth-grade students at Della Icenhower Intermediate School on Wednesday, March 2.

Earlier this month, representatives from Medical City Healthcare and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation joined Rangers mascot Captain in a “Health Rally” at Beckham Elementary School, marking the start of the 2022 program in Arlington.
